On June 2, 2022, an explosion and fire occurred at the Deepak Nitrite plant in Nandesari GIDC in Vadodara, Gujarat.
The fire caused panic among night shift workers. Around then workers were hospitalized after inhaling smoke, and some of them sustained minor injuries.
The fire incident occurred in the inorganic Finished Goods (FG) warehouse of Sodium Nitrite (SNI) in the evening at around 17:50 hrs. It also affected other nearby stores and warehouses.
Cause: has not been ascertained and disclosed in the public domain.
